Welcome to the download site for the Longview Transit GTFS data.

Longview Transit provides public transit services in the City of Longview, Texas.

WHAT IS GTFS?

GTFS stands for General Transit Feed Specification. The GTFS is a worldwide, common format for sharing public transportation schedules and associated geographic information. GTFS data is used in many trip planning applications including Google Maps, Roadify, Transit App, and more.

GTFS datasets, or “feeds,” allow public transit agencies to publish their transit data in a standardized way. A GTFS feed is presented as a series of text files with comma-separated values that conform to the specification. Each file is essentially a table in the relational database that is the whole package.

MANDATED GTFS REPORTING

As of July 7th, 2022, the Federal Transit Association (FTA) requires agencies with fixed service routes to annually submit their static GTFS data to the National Transit Database (NTD). Additionally, agencies must create and maintain a public domain GTFS dataset that reflects their fixed route service. Specifically, agencies must provide a web link from which their GTFS feed can be collected. Each web link must link to a compressed (.zip or `zip') archive containing at least one copy of each of the required text files listed in GTFS Data Requirements.
